Martin Garrix, Anyma, Post Malone and More Confirmed for UNTOLD Festival's 10th Anniversary

Blossoming into one of the world’s elite festivals, UNTOLD has announced an impressive roster of talent for its milestone 10th anniversary edition, scheduled for August 7-10 in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania.

The festival’s organizers have secured a mix of electronic music heavyweights and mainstream artists, including a headlining performance by chart-topping superstar Post Malone. UNTOLD is hosting eight stages, where 250 acts will perform for an expected audience of over 400,000.

The anniversary edition will feature exclusive performances from Martin Garrix, who is preparing an “UNTOLD Special” set, and Tiësto, who will deliver an extended performance, according to a press release.

In a significant booking, UNTOLD has secured Anyma for his Romanian debut. Fresh from launching his groundbreaking “The End of Genesys” residency at the Vegas Sphere in December 2024, the Italian DJ will bring his signature blend of melodic techno and cutting-edge visuals to the festival’s main stage on its final day.

UNTOLD favorite Armin van Buuren is also returning to Cluj Arena alongside Brazilian dance music icon Alok and Australian house music superstar FISHER, who is set to make his main stage debut after last year’s performance on the Galaxy stage. The lineup also includes Don Diablo, Black Coffee, Adriatique, Dom Dolla, Marco Carola and Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello, among other influential artists.

Ushering in a new initiative, the festival is offering backstage tour experiences in 2025, with options including a 60-minute “Discovery Tour” and a more extensive 100-minute “Insider Tour,” giving fans unprecedented access to the festival grounds.

Tickets to UNTOLD 2025 are available through the festival’s official website.

Mexican event company Lostnights has been revealed as the production partner resurrecting Fyre Festival, the notorious 2017 event that ended in chaos and led to founder Billy McFarland’s imprisonment for fraud.

The second iteration of Fyre Festival is slated for May 30th to June 2nd on Isla Mujeres, a small island off Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula near Cancún. Lostnights, an event organizer with deep ties to Tulum’s electronic music scene, will handle production duties.

“I’m sure many people think I’m crazy for doing this again,” McFarland said in a statement released today. “But I feel I’d be crazy not to do it again. After years of reflection and now thoughtful planning, the new team and I have amazing plans for Fyre 2. The adventure seekers who trust the vision and take the leap will help make history. Thank you to my partners for the second chance.”

Lostnights produces events at Tehmplo, an open-air electronic music venue tucked away in the Quintana Roo jungle that regularly books influential DJs like Solomun, Michael Bibi and Vintage Culture. The company’s CEO, Carlos López, also holds roles in a handful of local dance music festivals and concert series.

Lostnights boasts on its website about being “adept at logistics, coordination, and execution, ensuring every element of your event is flawless.” This claim will face unprecedented scrutiny as the company attempts to rehabilitate the Fyre Festival brand. McFarland in 2022 was released from prison after serving four years for wire fraud following the botched event on the Bahamian island of Great Exuma.

The new location choice of Isla Mujeres presents its own challenges. The island, which has a population of less than 23,000, has limited infrastructure compared to major festival destinations, raising questions about pain points in the original event’s collapse. Just over half of households on the island have internet access, according to the Municipality of Quintana Roo.

Lostnights claims on its website that “operations are the backbone of any successful event” and that they “handle logistics with a keen eye for detail.” Whether this expertise can overcome the logistical nightmare that defined the ill-fated Fyre Festival remains to be seen, but it’s worth noting that McFarland reportedly brought on ancillary hotel, travel and ticketing companies to help.

The good news, however, is that Isla Mujeres is considered one of the safest destinations in Mexico. It was ranked among the top islands to visit in North America in the 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards by Condé Nast Traveler, following a significant increase in tourism since 2019.

Isla Mujeres welcomed approximately 944,401 visitors that year, per the Quintana Roo Secretary of Tourism, marking a substantial 35.4% increase from the previous year. This upward trend continued into 2022, with monthly tourist arrivals reaching up to 200,000 and ballooning hotel occupancy rates on the island, according to Latin American tourism news outlet REPORTUR.

A total of 2,000 tickets to Fyre Festival 2 went on sale today, February 24th, ranging in price from $1,400 to a staggering $1.1 million. A lineup has not been announced at the time of this writing.

More information about Fyre Festival 2 can be found on its official website.

LSZEE are back with “Lost,” a track that feels untethered to the physical world entirely, floating between the stars and your subconscious.

The collaborative alias of CloZee and LSDREAM emerged in a blaze of creative fire within a matter of months, debuting at Electric Forest in June 2024 before releasing a self-titled album and headlining Red Rocks in one of EDM.com‘s best performances of the year.

But if those milestones suggested a whirlwind of maximalist ambitions, “Lost” reveals a different dimension of LSZEE’s artistry, one that’s more meditative and introspective. With the new single, LSZEE reinforce that fact that their synergy is far from a fleeting experiment and reveal a broader spectrum of their cerebral sound.

Anchored by the haunting vocals of Roniit, “Lost” unfurls like a weightless dream sequence. Her airy voice glides through the track while LSZEE’s atmospheric production shines with delicate, drifting synths that dissolve into an otherworldly soundscape. The duo leans into subtlety, allowing reverb-drenched melodies to bloom in vast open space before coalescing around a cinematic trap drop.

Music serves many purposes in the lives of those who consume it, but chief among those goals is to make the listener feel. “Above The Water,” a new collaboration between producers Blanke and CADMIUM with singer-songwriter Ben Provencial, passes that test with flying colors.

“Above The Water” is a stirring blend of melancholy and triumph that underscores each artists’ versatility. At the heart of the track is Provencial’s soaring vocal range, drenched in regret and introspection, effortlessly guiding the energy from its somber introduction to its euphoric release. A tutorial in balancing tension and resolution, his lyricism serves as the anchor that carries the weight of the song’s emotional arc.

His evocative delivery immediately pulls us into the track’s self-doubting depths before the production shifts gears, injecting a sense of catharsis. As the drop develops, “Above The Water” transitions into an uplifting fusion of melodic bass and a driving, percussive groove.

Blanke, the EDM.com Class of 2021 star who also moonlights as his drum & bass alias ÆON:MODE, continues to expand his sonic palette by demonstrating his deft touch in the future bass space. Meanwhile, CADMIUM reinforces his own cinematic style with emotionally charged production.

Mike Posner has always been a seeker—of wisdom, of reinvention of a deeper connection to music and self. His new track, “Underneath It All,” co-produced by Swedish House Mafia, is another chapter in that transformative journey.

The opening moments of “Underneath It All” are unhurried and deliberate. Swedish House Mafia establish a brooding atmosphere, allowing Posner’s ageless voice to emerge like a distant mantra and intone a reflective affirmation: “The exciting thing is it’s only the beginning.”

What follows is a gradual crescendo where melodic house synths bubble beneath the surface before breaking open into a dynamic, pulsating groove. Take a listen below.

Dance music has always been a vehicle for transformation for Posner, the voice behind “I Took a Pill in Ibiza,” the hauntingly self-aware anthem that became a cultural touchstone. But his ties to the genre extend far beyond that singular hit.

He shared a creative connection with Avicii, another artist whose contributions to EDM frequently crossed between euphoria and introspection. With “Underneath It All,” Posner continues that legacy, merging his reflective songwriting with the grand, cinematic vision of Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello.

What would Ultra be without Carl Cox?

It’s a fair question, considering the techno legend has performed a staggering 19 times since the festival’s inception back in 1999. A lynchpin of Ultra’s storied RESISTANCE MegaStructure, Cox didn’t appear last year but is now returning in 2025 and once again shaping the event’s future by debuting an ambitious live show, “Evolution.”

The performance will harken back to the ethos of 2022’s scintillating Electronic Generations album, Cox’s first-ever body of work, he told us at the time, as a live artist. He’ll be using a combination of hardware and software “to create and manipulate sounds in real-time,” he said.

“I’ll be playing my music live on stage, using a combination of hardware and software to create and manipulate sounds in real-time,” Cox explained. “Unlike a DJ set with pre-recorded tracks, or my hybrid set that combines elements of live performance and DJing, I’ll be crafting and evolving the music live, adding an extra layer of spontaneity and energy to the performance.”

Celebrating the festival’s 25th anniversary, he’s also bringing his “Carl Cox Invites” series to Ultra for the first time this year, inviting Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin DEF EFX X0X, Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn, Dubfire EVOLV, Marc Romboy and a special b2b performance between him and Christopher Coe.

We’ve teamed with the iconic festival to share an exclusive selection of tracks, curated by Cox, for its official Spotify playlist, System Breach.

“My playlist for System Breach is going to knock you out,” Cox tells EDM.com. “I didn’t hold anything back for this one and I think it’s a perfect soundtrack for the countdown to Ultra’s 25-year anniversary. See you on the dancefloor!”

A new sound is emerging deep within Lumon Industries’ labyrinthine halls, and this time, it’s sanctioned by the board—and ODESZA.

ODESZA have joined forces with Apple TV+ to sever and reconstruct Theodore Shapiro’s unsettling Severance soundtrack into an eerie remix, which pulses with the anxious energy of an “innie” stepping off the elevator.

Lumon’s handbook probably doesn’t approve of such musical experimentation, but fans of both Severance and the superstar electronic duo will find plenty of macrodata easter eggs to refine in the new track, which spans a staggering 23 minutes.

“We wanted to take people on a journey and give a wider breadth of music and play off and reinterpret Teddy’s score in a unique way,” ODESZA’s Harrison Mills told Billboard. “We put different chords under a lot of his melodies, while also trying to stay true to the vibe of the show, which is kind of creepy and subversive. You’re not overtly aware of this dark underbelly.”

Meanwhile in the real world, the second season of the brilliant Apple TV+ sci-fi show is breaking records after toppling Ted Lasso as the platform’s most-watched series globally. Severance has amassed 589 million minutes of viewership in the U.S. over all existing episodes, ballooning subscriptions by 126%, according to data released by the streaming service.

You can listen to ODESZA’s Severance remix, titled “Music To Refine To,” below.
