SABAI, Somna and RUNN Dance Through the Aftermath of Goodbye In New Single, “I Miss You”

There’s a particular brand of courage in admitting you miss someone who has every right to ignore your message—the new collaboration from SABAI, Somna and RUNN captures this vulnerability with stunning precision.
Out now via SABAI’s own imprint, IKIGAI Music, “I Miss You” is a melodic bass track that explores the ache of reaching out to someone who once knew you completely, even when you know you might not deserve their response. This is bass music for the quiet hours when the party’s long over and you’re left alone with your thoughts and your phone, thumb hovering over that contact you promised yourself you wouldn’t call.
The track opens with gentle guitar plucks that feel like hesitant footsteps toward a door you’re nervous to knock on. When SABAI and Somna’s soaring drop hits, it’s like all those pent-up feelings finally breaking through the surface.
SABAI and Somna’s production creates a delicate soundscape where RUNN’s tender vocals can breathe and resonate. In an era of ghosting and digital disconnection, her vulnerable lyrics remind us of the humanity in admitting we need someone back in our lives. The way she sings “It isn’t fair after everything I put you through” carries just the right mix of regret and desperation.
“I Miss You” is signature SABAI, who is on the rise after his sold-out solo headline show at LA’s famed Hollywood Palladium, where he introduced a full live band experience. On the other hand, the track marks a departure for Somna, a longtime staple of the trance music community. He’s been releasing music for over 15 years and leading one of trance’s most prolific labels, AVA Recordings, as its co-owners.

The best house tracks transport you somewhere else, and Dom Dolla‘s latest, “Dreamin,” hands you a first-class ticket.
The Australian dance music superstar joined forces with chart-topping songstress Daya for the new collaboration, out now via Good Fortune Records. Their chemistry is a match made in heaven, delivering a hypnotic house record that explores the disorienting beauty of fleeting moments.
Dolla once again demonstrates his uncanny ability to craft memorable dancefloor weapons that resonate far beyond the stage. The strength of “Dreamin” lies in its ability to evoke that universal sensation of wondering whether our most perfect memories are real or merely a mirage, too good to be true.
Daya masterfully captures those moments of suspended reality with a gossamer vocal performance that dances between dreamlike detachment and intense intimacy. “All my friends, so sweet and innocent / The story never ends, all good but now I think I’m dreaming / Sunny days, it’s such a pretty place / I see your smiling face, woke up and now I think I’m dreaming.”
The release arrives a month prior to Dolla’s headline of New York City’s illustrious Madison Square Garden, scheduled for March 7-8, 2025. The momentous doubleheader is a big moment for the breakout DJ, whose global hit “girl$” was recently named by EDM.com as one of 2024’s best house tracks.

Future Rave Meets Melodic Techno In InteliDey's New Single, “I Don't Think (Infinity Wave)”

InteliDey’s latest release, “I Don’t Think,” is a brooding dive into the darker edges of electronic music, fusing the high-energy urgency of future rave with the emotive pull of melodic techno.
InteliDey’s production is razor-sharp, layering eerie synths over a propulsive bassline. The UK-based, Indian-born producer, who is also an award-winning tech entrepreneur and TEDx speaker, crafted an arrangement that builds tension but never fully resolves, leaving listeners suspended in its electric haze.
The lyrics—minimal but evocative—carry an eerie detachment: “I don’t think you’re gonna set me free… Just the way I want it.” The contrast between the relentless rhythm and the emotional weight of the vocals creates a hypnotic push-pull effect, making the track as introspective as it is festival-ready. Take a listen below.
The new single, InteliDey says, is an example of a fresh, genre-blending sound he’s dubbed “Infinity Wave.” He was first inspired by David Guetta and MORTEN’s future rave concept, which ignited a new sub-genre back in 2021.
“As someone with ADHD, I thrive on music that keeps evolving, surprising, and capturing my focus with new elements,” he said. “This led me to ask: ‘Why not create a track that combines the best of these styles—a sonic experience that blends future rave’s energy, melodic techno’s depth, and progressive house’s emotional storytelling?’ That’s how the concept of ‘Infinity Wave’ was born. I can’t be the only ADHDer in the world who craves this mix, so I wanted to share this joy with others who share a similar taste.”

Apashe's Philharmonic Orchestra Show Is Unlike Anything You've Ever Seen

Apashe’s big gamble paid off.
He executed his vision immaculately January 24th at Seattle’s Wamu Theater, bringing a classical symphony center stage for electronic music fans. Approximately 7,000 concertgoers packed in for one of two philharmonic orchestra shows to see the innovative producer’s ambitious “Antagonist 2.0 Tour” production.
Apashe’s philharmonic orchestral show is a masterstroke. Already one of electronic music’s most innovative producers, he is now equipped with a live show that physically demonstrates his creativity. It’s a beautiful, visceral representation of his musical vision and a live experience unlike any other.
“It started as a dream,” Apashe told EDM.com prior to the show. “Now that it’s a reality, no one in my team or I expected this to be so complicated or so expensive. It’s very intense but I’m glad it’s working out really well.”
It worked better than well—it was brilliant. Roughly 20 hooded classical musicians brought a new level of authenticity to Apashe’s unique musical blend. Violinists, cellists and trombonists were among the druids flanking him on stage.
Sound levels are often challenging when DJs incorporate live instruments into their sets. If not careful, the recorded music can overpower the other performers. But Apashe and the live orchestra were in perfect harmony.
That’s not to suggest that you couldn’t tell them apart. Apashe succeeded in bringing his symphonic records to life, the orchestral instruments adding depth and layers to the performance to create bold sounds. The show felt big.
“The goal is to bring live on stage something closer to the recordings of how the music is made,” Apashe said at the time. “You get all these musicians. You get the real sound and the mix destroyed with the electronics.”
The lighting and pyrotechnics were the strings that tied Apashe’s one-of-a-kind production together. His orchestral show was dark, but not ominous—more so atmospheric. The “Fracture” producer leaned on fire and synchronized lighting patterns—primarily whites, reds and blues—to evoke a medieval mood.
A quality supporting lineup also delighted the crowd. Habstrakt’s reputation precedes him, and his ability to get us moving was a wonderful warm-up for Apashe’s unique production. Rapper Wasiu, whose collaborations include Apashe’s “Majesty” and “Human” as well as Black Tiger Sex Machine’s “Die A God,” was a familiar face perfect to kick off the show.
Josh Teed deserves special recognition. The violinist and music producer is remarkably talented. Teed effortlessly transitioned between playing the violin and DJing to craft a mesmerizing set, and the future is bright for him.
Apashe’s only other philharmonic orchestral show takes place at Paris’ Zenith on February 8th. He will continue touring, however, with a brass orchestra in various American and European cities. You can find his “Antagonist 2.0 Tour” dates here.

Zedd, Tiësto and Disclosure Top Colossal Lineup for FVDED In The Park 2025

FVDED In The Park is again blowing away Canada’s West Coast music festival scene.
FVDED shocked the electronic music community in 2024, bouncing back from the previous year’s cancellation with a stellar lineup featuring Swedish House Mafia and Kx5. Live Nation and Blueprint doubled down this year, securing equally impressive headliners in Tiësto and Zedd, and bolstering the event with an even deeper lineup.
A dizzying roster of heavy-hitters is headed to Surrey’s Holland Park from July 4-5. The many standouts include Kaytranada, Disclosure, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Lane 8, Loud Luxury, RL Grime, Sammy Virji, Subtronics, Dabin, PEEKABOO, Zingara and EDM.com Class of 2024 artists Levity, Of the Trees.
In total, 60 dance music artists are scheduled for the two-day event. The musicians will be split across four distinct stages at Holland Park.
Live Nation, Blueprint
FVDED, Western Canada’s largest in-city music festival, reportedly sold out its 48,000 tickets last year. The 2024 and 2025 FVDED lineups are a welcome sign for Western Canada’s music scene, which often lacks an abundance of world-class festival lineups relative to the East Coast.
The FVDED pre-sale begins February 10th at 11am PT (2pm ET). The general onsale starts February 12th at the same time. Click here to sign up for the pre-sale.

Lonely Together: EDM Fans Find Connection While DJs Struggle With Isolation

This is an opinion column. The thoughts and viewpoints expressed are those of the author, Dr. Sunni Lampasso, a psychologist, executive coach and the founder of Shaping Success, where she helps EDM artists and industry professionals elevate their careers while prioritizing wellness.
As the author of “Level Up Your Influence: A Self-Awareness Guide to Maximizing Your Growth and Unlocking Your Inner Leader,” she empowers artists to overcome mental roadblocks, avoid burnout and build a lasting legacy in the music industry.
Loneliness is a modern epidemic—30% of young adults in America feel lonely daily or several times a week, according to the American Psychiatric Association. For EDM fans, raves and festivals offer a place to connect, belong and feel alive. However, the experience can have the opposite effect for the DJs who bring us together.
As a psychologist who coaches DJs, I’ve seen how isolation impacts artists beyond what fans see. They constantly juggle creative demands, business pressures and expectations without the support system many professionals take for granted.
Before working closely with DJs, I didn’t fully grasp their lifestyle’s physical and emotional intensity. But I now see how deep the struggles run, from the small stage to the main stage. DJs need support, clarity and guidance to navigate the highs and lows while building a sustainable and fulfilling career.
Fans experience the art—the energy of the DJ’s performance and the music they produce—but they don’t see the hidden side: the loneliness, the stress and the intense pressure DJs experience behind the scenes. The very stages that unite us can isolate them and amplify loneliness, which causes an increased risk of anxiety, depression and physical health issues if not addressed.
Constant screen time and political divides contribute to a growing sense of isolation for both fans and artists. EDM events provide fans with community, but touring DJs often experience grueling travel, separation from loved ones and the pressure to consistently perform. The festival experience allows fans to recharge. However, many artists leave feeling drained and isolated as they rush to their next show.
Touring schedules can be brutal. Some DJs play around 300 shows each year, often with limited support and schedules that don’t include much time for wellness. Combined with a lack of self-care, loneliness further increases the risk for burnout, substance use and mental health struggles.
We’ve seen it firsthand. Avicii’s tragic death in 2018 was a wake-up call, and more recently, Alesso canceled shows due to health concerns and exhaustion. Many industry giants, including Armin van Buuren and Zedd, have spoken about using alcohol to push through performances.
The conversation about mental health in the music industry isn’t new, but real change has been slow. The recent release of the intimate Netflix documentary I’m Tim, which chronicles Avicii’s life and career, has reignited the mental health conversation, but more needs to be done. If we want our favorite artists to thrive, we need to rethink how the EDM industry supports its talent.
Some artists, labels, fans and festival organizers are beginning to recognize and address the challenges of artist loneliness, but we need more widespread action. Real change requires a collective effort from the entire EDM community:
Labels and managers
Prioritize sustainable careers over non-stop touring. Mandate rest periods and provide mental health, wellness and coaching resources. And always remember to treat artists as people first.
Festival organizers and club owners
Create backstage wellness spaces, normalize breaks and offer resources like therapists or performance coaches.
Artists
Build strong support networks inside and outside the industry, and prioritize staying connected when on the road. Speak openly about struggles to help break the stigma and push for better conditions. Try to limit traveling alone. Build a team that cares about you as a person and doesn’t just view you as a brand.
Fans
Recognize that DJs are human. If an artist cancels a show for health reasons, show empathy and support rather than criticism and judgment. Show support beyond the music—treat artists as you would treat a friend.
EDM is built on a foundation of respect. And that respect must extend to the artists who create the music that fuels our best moments.
