Reinier Zonneveld and Dea Magna Take Ravers on a Wild Ride to Tokyo in New Single: Listen

The ghost of 90s rave culture possesses modern techno in Reinier Zonneveld‘s latest dancefloor weapon, “Tokyo.”
Out now via the producer’s own Filth On Acid label, “Tokyo” is a calculated shot of adrenaline that knows exactly what it wants to be. The track, co-produced by Dea Magna, marries techno’s thrilling pulse with happy hardcore’s sugar rush, creating something that feels both nostalgic and current.
Despite drawing from happy hardcore, a genre known for excess, Zonneveld and Magna maintain control of the chaos. Their production is crisp and intentional, ingeniously interpolating whistle samples in a nod to the golden age of warehouse raves.
Meanwhile, Magna’s vocals ride the line between playful and hypnotic, following dance music’s tried-and-true formula of invitation and release. “Come with me to Tokyo” works as both a literal call to adventure and a metaphor for escape—exactly what you want when you’re lost in a crowd at 3am.
